Three midfielders will leave AC Milan this summer

Three midfielders will bid farewell to AC Milan at the end of the season while Adli and Pobega will return home.

The Rossoneri are planning important changes for next season. Maldini and Massara want to improve the squad despite the current group of players fighting for the Scudetto. There is always room for improvement and the midfield will be the department to change face the most during the summer.

Franck Kessie will be the first to leave as soon as the transfer window opens. The Ivorian midfielder has refused to extend his contract with the Rossoneri and becomes a free agent at the end of the season. His most likely destination will be Barcelona. Unfortunately, Milan will not be able to recoup anything from the €32 million fee they spent to purchase him from Atalanta.

Tiemoue Bakayoko will follow Kessie out of Milan. The second spell of the French midfielder at San Siro has been a total flop. Bakayoko has played only two matches for the entire 90 minutes this season. He arrived on loan from Chelsea until 2023 but AC Milan are working to anticipate his departure. Bakayoko is not part of Pioli’s plans and it would be pointless to keep him for another year.

Rade Krunic is the third midfielder set to leave at the end of the season. Krunic has always been an esteemed member of the squad with coach Stefano Pioli adapting him in every possible role in midfield. However, he will pay for the arrival of new faces this summer. Last season AC Milan refused an offer of €8 million from Germany. That will be his price tag again.

Yacine Adli will be the first midfielder to join AC Milan for next season. Adli was signed by the Rossoneri last summer but he remained on loan at Bordeaux. Tommaso Pobega will be another player returning from loan. His period at Torino has been a success and the Italian will try to convince even Stefano Pioli of his abilities.
